Through a collaboration with Pol Codina from Serraillería March in Mataró, the brief was to create a souvenir to be sold in the Artesanía Cataluña store in Barcelona, which promotes the local artisan's traditional work.
This wall shelf is inspired by the traditional Trencadís used by Gaudí and many more in Catalunyan architecture, as well as the curvy walls Trencadís is layed upon. When bought by a tourist, he brings a piece of this local memory back home, and is hopefully reminded of how he felt when taking in the view of Park Guell or La Pedrera.
All in all, this piece may help local artisans gain visibility through collaboration and product placement for tourist targets.
